Since I got back from the states I’ve found myself tuning into a lot more radio stations on my DAB radio in the office. I caught the bug when I was over the water and started hearing a lot of cool bands I’d never heard of in the UK (turns out that it’s true, we’re at least 6 months behind the rest of the world when it comes to most things - music, movies and so on and on) so recently I’ve decided it would be really cool to be able to listen to DAB radio when I’m on the move in order to stay abreast.
Despite what you may have been led to believe, you really don’t need to have a huge radio strapped to your back whilst wearing an overly large pair of technics headphones balanced on your bonce for you to be able to look cool whilst hooking up to your favourite DAB station. No sir.
All you actually need is a DAB radio. A really cool portable one.
“Hold on” I hear you ask.
“What the hell is DAB?”
Well my soon to be educated friend, DAB, short for Digital Audio Broadcast(ing) will eventually replace the existing analogue radio service we have piping through the airways at the moment. Digital Radio brings more choice (radio stations from all over the world), improved sound quality, no re-tuning (no more static) and extra information on broadcasts such as track names and sports results right to your very finger tips in a portable, carry-around-in-your-pocket radio form.
“But I already have an Ipod, doesn’t that mean something else to carry?”
Not at all. Save your precious pocket space for funner things like jammy doger crumbs and pocket oose as I have the perfect solution.
Look no further than the portable Roberts Robi Ipod DAB Radio.
This cute little gadget plugs straight inline with your Ipod and lets you listen to your favourite FM radio stations as well as the new DAB format wherever you go.
The inline remote lets you control your iPod volume and music track and the full unit itself is completely powered by your ipod. No extra batteries needed.
The coolest thing for me is it’s small size and weight (only 30g) and it fits snugly in your pocket.
It even comes with earphones included!
I’ve Been carrying mine everywhere and it’s officially my new favourite toy. (was a complete steal at £49.95 over at Roberts Radios)
